Missing cat found after 5 years, 1,800 miles away: A Boulder family lost a lot of sleep after their cat went missing five years ago, only to learn she ended up in the city that never sleeps. And her family has no idea how she got there.
They put up flyers, ads on craigslist, but heard nothing--until last Saturday. They got a phone call from a New York City animal shelter saying their now 7-year-old cat was alive and well.
A microchip on Willow’s neck identified the Squires as her owners. Chris Squires says Willow escaped from their former home in Westminster in late 2006 after a plumber left the door open.
